There are two good reasons for eating at The Barbary. One is the Jerusalem bagel, a wondrous piece of baking. Served warm from the oven, encrusted in spicy sesame seeds it must be the best bread roll in town.

It’s not always the show-off dishes that make a great restaurant but getting the small things right so well done @asador44 for the bread - well actually the best ever sourdough toast both at dinner and at breakfast), the perfectly cooked side of broccoli and the stellar apricot ice cream and sangria sorbet. It’s the crushed broad beans with goat’s cheese and preserved lemon salsa. Although he makes it with frozen broad beans and peas which makes it a brilliant storecupboard standby I made it with fresh given both are in season - just the perfect taste of summer.
